OUR STORY

About Us

Raikoh Apps is a software development studio founded in Oct, 2019. Our goal is to create the best mobile apps, games and websites possible using modern technologies. Raikoh Apps was launched not too long ago in November 2019. At the moment, it is just a one-man band without much to tell. My name is Jay L, the founder of Raikoh Apps and our story begins with Booyah, our first app.

Story of Booyah

The idea of Booyah was originated in 2016 when my friends and I went to Japan for a holiday trip. We did all of the typical fun holiday stuff during the day (sightseeing, eating, exploring etc.) but there wasn't much to do by the end of each day at 1am in our apartments. We did go out most nights and enjoyed the night life of Japan, but on other nights, we would end the day on a high note with a couple games of good old hide and seek.

Immediately, we all agreed that playing with traditional rules became boring and unchallenging, so we spiced the game up with a scary looking horse mask (it's quite terrifying in the dark) and tiny little ringing bells tied to our ankles to make it harder for hiders to move around because it would cause the bell to ring. We all had a blast on the that trip and not until 3 years later when I looked back to the good times we had, I noticed the opportunity to turn the idea into a fun app. Being a software developer, that's exactly what I did as my first fun and big project.

Raikoh Apps today

Fast forward 6 months, I was able to turned the idea into reality through long nights of coding and learning. From creating Booyah, I fell in love with building software and putting it out there for the world to enjoy. This led me to create Raikoh Apps so that I can continue to work on more projects.

Without anybody else in the team to begin with, I have learnt how to effectively design, prototype, develop, market, brand, maintain and optimize a product. This is just the beginning of Raikoh Apps and the team will definitely grow bigger and bigger as we go!
